Letter from Tammy

It has long been observed that nearly everything in this world is born of one of two places.

Fear… or love.

Strip away the noise, the urgency, the sharp edges of modern life, and what remains is usually one or the other. Fear contracts. It tightens the chest. It asks us to guard, to hoard, to brace ourselves. Love, on the other hand, expands. It softens the shoulders. It opens the heart. It invites us to give, to gather, to nourish.

Lady Whistledown would argue that love is not merely an emotion, but a frequency. A vibration. One that hums higher than fear, louder than anger, and far more powerful than we are often led to believe.

And if there is one thing food has taught me, it is this: when we operate from the heart, others can feel it. They taste it. They carry it with them.

This week, with Valentine’s Day upon us, we are reminded in countless ways to express love. Through cards and flowers, through chocolate and shared meals, through the simple act of saying, I thought of you.

At Grateful Fed, love has always been our starting point. It is why we consider balance alongside indulgence. Why, knowing the weekend would be rich with chocolates, comfort, and celebration, we chose to offer a lighter, nourishing Wednesday dinner to steady the body and mind before the feast. Why we send dinner and sweet treat boxes to college kids away from home, dinners for two to couples near and far, food marks moments that deserve to be honored.

Love does not look one single way. Sometimes it looks like decadence. Sometimes it looks like restraint. Often, it looks like care taken behind the scenes.

In a world that can feel heavy, fractured, and loud, choosing love is not naïve. It is courageous. It is an act of resistance. It is a return to the heart space where connection lives and community grows.

My hope this week is simple: that you feel held. That you feel fed. That you remember love is not scarce, even when it feels distant. And that whatever table you gather around, whether full or quiet, shared or solo, you know that you are part of something bigger than yourself.

Because when we choose love, again and again, we raise the vibration for all of us.

With gratitude always, and love at the center,

Gratefully Yours,
